Best Places to Visit in Australia

What are some of the best places to visit in Australia?

Summer is a wonderful time southern hemisphere. Summer means it’s time to start adventuring! If you are traveling to Australia, here are some of the best places you should visit and explore!

Cairns

Maybe you do not know the name of the city, but I’m sure you’ve heard of the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns is the main
city you access the reef from. The reef is known for its beauty, but unfortunately, the reef is quickly dying so visit the reef asap, but also to learn why we need to take action to help it!

Blue Mountains

Can I just say, “Wow”! I was literally in awe the entire time I was there. The Blue Mountains are peaceful, stunning, and breath-taking. If you are low on time, you can go to Scenic World and take some hikes and sky rails to see the mountains, or you can do your own hiking and spend the days walking through the bush and stumble upon sights like the Three Sisters

Sunshine Coast

Not as well-known as the Gold Coast, but I find it to be much better. The Sunshine Coast is less touristy and has ample things to do. You can walk/hike for hours and find some hidden gems like the Fairy Pools.

Fraser Island

The world’s largest Sand Island! You can snorkel, 4WD in massive jeeps, see shipwrecks, and so much more! It can be pretty pricey to get/be there, but definitely worth it.

Great Ocean Road

MY FAVORITE! The Great Ocean Road starts just off the coast in Melbourne. You can drive (or take a tour) for hours coming across the most unbelievable views like the 12 Apostles. Every time you look out your window your jaw will drop a little more. I took a tour with Sight Seeing Tours Australia and loved it! The tour guide was awesome and he took us to places that I never could have found on my own.

Australia Zoo

Steve Irwin. Australia’s beloved hero. Australia Zoo is located in Brisbane and it has some spectacular attractions. You can watch the Croc show, stand inches from some of Australia’s most dangerous animals, and pet the koalas and kangaroos. Definitely worth the trip!

Tasmania

I never thought such beauty was possible. Tasmania is a totally different world than the rest of Australia. It has some of the most astonishing views I have ever seen. Whether it’s Cradle Mountain, Wine Glass Bay, or simply star gazing late at night, Tasmania will not disappoint.
